Saturday October 22nd

8am-11am
Net Radio Cafe
The coffee will be ready for this early morning event. Come listen to some net radio with us.

4pm
Movie
"Powaqqatsi"
Allow me to directly quote from the back cover..."The overall focus (of this film) is on the third world and how they express themselves through work and traditions."

I've heard it's good...I've been waiting for a while to see it cuz it's kinda hard to find. Don't miss it!

6:30 pm
Socrates Cafe
Socrates Cafe is your chance to part of a vibrant community! It is essentially a discussion group where everyone seeks to learn more about others, more about themselves, and more about the world they live in. Since it is a "cafe" there will always be refreshments (although not enough to justify skipping a meal for it) along with coffee, tea, water, and hopefully soda. There is no discussion "leader" since the discussions are not meant to be leading. There is only a moderator that will ask questions to keep the discussion moving further and deeper. Everyone's opinion is respected, and everyone's opinion is questioned, because that is how we learn and grow. The ultimate point is for each of us to get to the bottom of our own thoughts and feelings on the topic, and thus understand the heart of the issue. Along the way we hope to establish lots of new friendships, too! Although there are an infinite number of possible discussion topics, we plan to start with the question, "What makes a (downtown) community great?" And we especially encourage those who live, work or hang out downtown to come.
