Update from The Radish

Dearest Radishals,

There is still a great vibe around the space from last night. Two riot-folkers, Adhamh Roland and Brenna Sahatjian, came through on the "Pedal to the People" tour. Maioan Person opened for them to a full Radish. For more information on the Riot-Folk collective, and to download free music, visit www.riot-folk.com.

There is a skill-share coming up at the radish on Friday night on converting normal cars to run on hydrogen. The process converts water into hydrogen, and then uses the hydrogen to supplement the gas. The guy doing the skill-share has converted his own car and is getting 10 miles more a gallon. The skill-share should be starting at about 7pm.

We are half-way through the month of June, and the Radish bank account is very low. To keep the doors open through July we are going to need some serious community support. A space like the Radish flourishing in Springfield is remarkably encouraging. It shows that there is a strong progressive presence in our community.

There are several ways to donate to help support the radish:
If you are coming into the Radish you can drop your donation in to any of the donation cans set around the store.
You can send donations to 417 N. Boonville, Springfield, MO, 65806
If you would rather use plastic you can put funds into the Radish paypal account. Just go to http://radishinfoshop.blogspot.com/ and click on the "donate" button on the righthand side.

Here is a listing of all the activities and happenings that are going on at the Radish over the next week.

On the 23rd and the 24th there is going to be a Radish Yardsale at 1640 E. Elm. If you want to donate for the sale call Amber at 832-9312. There will also be another sale in a few weeks, so call to arrainge to donate for that one also.

On the 24th Socrates Cafe is going to be in the space from 6:30 until 8:30. The topic for the evening is "Are we winning the war on terror?" These structured discussion groups are usually accompanied by drinks and snacks.

The monday night community potluck will be at the usual 7 o'clock time. At the potluck we will be painting coffee cups with an oven-bake glaze. These coffe cups will be sold as Radish fundraisers the following week.

On Tuesday, the 27th there will be a schmeeting at 7pm.

On Thursday, the 29th there will be a Chess Club at 6:30, and a Poetry Reading at 7:30.

On Friday, June 30th, Jasper Kent is playing from 7 until 9. This will be an acoustic show, with a suggested donation of 3 dollars.

Well kids,
thanks you for all your continued support,

yours for the revolution,

Amber
