Radish Update & Upcoming Events

(written & emailed on) March 5, 2007

Hey all,

The Radish is now home-free! We just completed 2 weeks of grueling work, putting the contents of the shop into storage, & some of us are actually looking forward to a time (hopefully short) in which to regroup, hone our collective skills & activate some of the more creative projects we've been wanting to do. (But were too busy keeping the doors open.) We intend for the collective to continue to grow, so we're still seeking committed workers to join us during this fertile time in The Radish's continuous evolution.

While seeking a new space, the Radish Collective has booked several dates at various locations for workshops, films, and other events.

Upcoming SOON:

Tues., March 6, 7:30pm: Radish Collective Shmeeting - Library Center in the Story Room, 4653 S. Campbell, Springfield, Mo

Wed., March 7, 6:30pm: Film: “V For Vendetta” - Brentwood Library, 2214 Brentwood Blvd., Springfield, Mo

Tues., March 13, 7:30pm: Radish Collective Shmeeting – Fire Station #1 Community Room, 720 E. Grand (Grand & Holland)

Sat., March 17, 2pm: Street Team - distribute flyers at St. Pat's parade – email or come to a Shmeeting, to participate

Tues., March 20, 7pm: Radish Collective Shmeeting - Panera Bread Co. - meeting room , 500 S. National Ave, Springfield, MO

...more to come...

Volunteers are still needed for the following tasks:

STREET TEAMS for flyering at St. Pat's parade, Art Walk, and other events.
TABLING TEAMS for local shows/events.
FLYER DESIGN & printing.
RESEARCH venues for workshops/films/other events & much larger/affordable space for The Radish.

Though The Radish is now home-free, its operation is not. We still need a lot of donated printing or gift cards, etc. We continue to raise funds for the new location as well, so don't forget to make a donation at Radish events & shmeetings, or click on the “make a donation” button on this page ~ at right, under "Radish Links" (scroll up).

Thanks in advance for your contribution! Regardless of whether it's time, physical effort, financial donation, material resources, energetic support, etc., it all helps!

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! I knew you guys would fold, I'm only surprised it took so long. I guess being douchebags and pissing off and losing donors didn't work out too well. Try harder next time, tranny.

AHA! GOTCHA! There were always enough donors to cover the expense of running an infoshop but we couldn't bring ourselves to sign on to a THIRD LEASE TERM in such a tiny space. The Radish Collective is now seeking a space large enough to house much more of what the community can envision.
