We Found a Home!

We have finally unpacked all our boxes of lending library books, magazines, zines, and videos. So, i guess it's time to update this blog.
First, some upcoming events...

First Friday Art Walk is tonight. Come help flier for the 4000 bodies - 4000 troops project where activists are going to draw 4000 chalk outlines to signify to 4000 troops that have been lost to the Iraq war, there are two options to connect with people to make this happen:

email is fourthousandtroops@gmail.com
or the facebook group is 4000 outlines for the 4000 troops at http://facebook.com

Sunday, March 9th is our once a month Potluck! This is your chance to come by and see our progress before we open on April 1st. Bring a dish and your ideas, it's always more enjoyable to network while eating yummy veggie food.

As for whats been going on...
The Lending Library is being revamped. We've started re-categorizing the books, so if you have any books that you can donate to the library, we would love to have more! Our categories include: Anarchism, Revolutionary Theory & Practice, Resistance History, Primitivism/Survival, and Permaculture/Sustainability to name a few. We will accept any books, but only the best will remain in the library.

The current consensus for the use of the Library is as such:
Visitors can check out one book at time for as long as they need, we just require a name & phone number so we can contact you later when someone else is requesting the same book.
Also, we're starting a library membership program to help raise money to get new books on the shelves. For $10/year you can check out 5 books at a time with the option to buy books at discounted used rates. This will allow us to replenish the books we really want to keep in the library.
Magazines (Earth First!, Adbusters, Green Anarchy, etc...), Zines, and Reference Books will remain in-store use only (exceptions can be made)
This is the idea so far, if you have ideas to contribute we would love to hear them.

Keep an eye on our calendar, there's urban gardening meet-up coming soon
