Howdy Radishals!

Here is a quick rundown of the events this week. Please pay special attention to Wednesday night!

Also – we are in desperate need of a decent (no Windows 98, please) computer for the space. If you have one that you can donate, or know someone who does, please send it our way!

Tuesday, September 20 @ 6-9 pm: Womyn's Night. This event is NOT at The Radish. For more information, please call jenny at 496-3782.

Wednesday, September 21 @ 7 pm: Radish Shmeeting. This one is super-important. Benny and Jenny will soon be departing, and we need some Radishals to fill their spots on the Board of Directors. This is VERY important to the future of The Radish. Please plan on attending this shmeeting to help us figure out who should fill these spots, and how.

Thursday, September 22 @ 6 pm: “The World Can't Wait/Drive Out the Bush Regime!” Organizational Gathering. Join with local people organizing for this exciting national mobilization. Visit http://www.worldcantwait.org/ for more information. If you are interested in participating but can't come on Thursday, let us know and we can put you on their email list.

Thursday, September 22 @ 7 pm: Music by Raymond! Free and all ages.

Friday, September 23 @ 7 pm: Monty Python Street Theater. Because sometimes we just need to have some fun. . . Open to anyone and everyone.

Saturday, September 24 @ 6:30 pm: Socrates Cafe. Here is what the organizers say: Socrates Cafe is your chance to part of a vibrant community! It is essentially a discussion group where everyone seeks to learn more about others, more about themselves, and more about the world they live in. Some refreshments (but don't skip any meals) along with coffee, tea, water, and hopefully soda. Everyone's opinion is respected, and everyone's opinion is questioned, because that is how we learn and grow. The ultimate point is for each of us to get to the bottom of our own thoughts and feelings on the topic, and thus understand the heart of the issue. Along the way we hope to establish lots of new friendships, too!

Finally, this weekend is the big anti-war mobilization in D.C. Please keep your eyes peeled for any news (or lack thereof) of our comrades who are making the trip (might we recommend http://dc.indymedia.org/ ?) If you will be in town this weekend, check out the message below from the Peace Network of the Ozarks.

---------------------------------------

In January, 2003, in bone-chilling cold, over 300 peacemakers converged on Representative Blunt's office and said NO to an illegal, preemptive strike on Iraq. Tens of thousands of deaths and wounded later, we're converging again to declare END THE WAR. The killing and hemorrhaging must stop.

United for Peace and Justice is calling for all people nationwide to make this call. Please call your friends and join us at Blunt's office We need more than 30. We must end the sacifices.
