Radish Minutes from 6.27.06 - 10 Radishals in attendance
First discussed was the bank account. We have $230 in the account, and another $170 has been deposited. If we receive more donations over the next few days we will be able to pay the rent.
Second was a discussion of monthly donors. We have had a few Radishals say that they are willing to “pledge” a monthly donation towards the Radish. We came to consensus that if Radishals want to contribute that they should receive a T-shirt, mug, or other “thank you” from the Radish.
The Utilities was the next item. The Radish is considered a business, so it has to pay $26 per month for gas, even through there is no use during the summer. Molly had tried to get them to reprieve us, but they would have none of it. Also, thermostat temperatures and airconditioner usuage was discussed. It was reiterated that people need to be careful with our usage. We are now looking for additional fans to move the air around to cut down on airconditioner use.
It was also agreed that there still should be no one staying at The Radish after close. This of course goes on a case by case basis, but for the most part sleeping at The Radish is highly discouraged.
Next was the addition of consignment to The Radish. We agreed that Donna would make a consignment notebook and that we would begin taking consignment items from Radishals. This would allow The Radish community to sell handmade clothing, jewlery, bags, soap, etc. in a downtown shop. It would also help The Radish both through percent of profit, and through increased traffic.
There is also a large stack of Radish T-Shirts in the space. They are available with a fifteen dollar donation to The Radish. The nicest of these shirts is a tye-dye large shirt. It was decided that this shirt would be raffled of, with all proceeds going towards The Radish. The shirt was donated to us, so we could keep 100% of the donations. A future raffle item may be a nosweat.com gift certificate.
It was also brought up was that Amber volunteered to keep better maintance of the blog and email. She (I) will also work to get the website running.
The last thing discussed was cleaning sechdules, but it was decided that people are giving as much as they can. Anyone who volunteers is encouraged to clean, sweep, etc.
The next schmeeting is planned for July 11, at 7pm. There is a fundraising meeting at 7pm on July 4.
