Dear Radishals,
There has been a lot of renovation going on in the space as of late. The four new bookshelves have been set up in the space, and they have been organized in (hopefully) a more convenient way. As always, the community is welcome to come get a good read. This three day weekend would be a great time to devour some good literature. We are still needing bookends, so if anyone has some sitting around, they could be getting put to good use. (Just plain metal ones, we aren't asking for anything fancy.)
Another loving volunteer managed to get the wireless Internet hooked up to the community computer. This will free up the phone lines to the Radish as well. In the past we have had a lot of issues with people not being able to get through because the phone lines have been tied up. You should now be able to reach a Radish volunteer at (417)-866-7903.
A lot of the energy around here has been spent towards the MSU culturefest, which is coming up on September 19th. We are having a flier-making workshop on Tuesday, September 5th, at about 7pm. If you have a flier idea, bring it in. We have had a bunch of copies donated to us, so we will be collecting fliers, and then going to mass copy them. We also are collecting zines, and other pamphlets that people would like us to distribute at the table. Someone has already donated a stack of the Crimethinc DIY booklets for the event. (Thanks Again!)
There are several other events planned for September. One such event is a concert planned for 1 p.m. On September 9th. This is a great chance for those who aren't interested in the smoke-filled, alcohol-filled late-night club scene to come out and see some good music. The two bands are In Ink Please and Snow Cuts Glass. If you are interested in checking out their music you can do so through Myspace, where they both have accounts.
To check out other events that are happening during September you can check out the calendar at http://www.my.calendars.net/pno. If you see an event you are interested come and check it out. That is why we are here! If you want an event to happen, but don't see it on the calendar, then just email us to schedule it during any open hours.
Well kids, I think that is all for today.
Best wishes from you local neighborhood infoshop,
Amber
