Mobile Free Store
Justin's Great Worktable Plan
Financial Report
Report on Tabling at MSU (PAW table)
The 'Mobile Free Store' is still waiting for a rolling rack. Mikey and Josh have found a small shelf to put pants on, but they have not yet found a standing rack to display shirts & other hanging items on. Once they find a rack & collect some quality clothing they're going to make a portable free store.
The financial report was given. We still need $150 for the phone & electric bills for this month, as well as $500 for October's rent. We are going to try to reduce the phone bill by using an online phone account instead. This should reduce the cost by $10 per month.
Heidi and Donna and Justin are all needing access to a key. This is important because they are working shifts weekly. We decided that they would share a key, trading off based on who was opening & when.
The PAW table planning is going well. We have all of the shifts covered, although it would be nice if we had a few more volunteers to cover bathroom breaks, drink breaks, etc. We could use volunteers anytime from 11am until 4 pm, on Tues., Sept. 19th. Zines still need to be copied, & more flyers need to be made for the table.
Justin is working towards a zine-&-flyer-making work table in the Radish. He wants to create a space with paper, a printer, glue, scissors, a paper cutter, etc. He is going to look into the printer, although funding the future ink could become an issue.
The Radish mugs are also going to be reduced to $1 each. These are hand painted with lead-free people-friendly paint, and are dishwasher and microwave safe. We are going to try and sell some of them to raise some funds.
The next shmeeting will be on Sept. 26, at 7pm.

Music and Radishes?
Hey all you Radishals,
What are you doing tomorrow afternoon? If you don't have any plans, I have a great idea. You should come down to the Radish at 1pm, Sat., Sept. 9th, and see two bands. It is an afternoon matinee show featuring "Snow Cuts Glass" & "In Ink Please." There isn't any cover charge, although the bands may toss out a hat for gas funds. I can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon then watching a couple of bands down at The Radish!
(As a side note there is a 4:30pm showing of the War Tapes at The Moxie, just a few blocks from The Radish. According to the Internet: "Straight from the front lines in Iraq, THE WAR TAPES is the first war movie filmed by soldiers themselves. Funnier, more revealing, and more gut wrenching than news reports, this is Operation Iraqi Freedom as filmed by Sergeant Steve Pink, Sergeant Zack Bazzi and Specialist Mike Moriarty." For other show times check out [old calendar link].
Besides the show tomorrow, there are plenty of other events happening down here. To find out more about the individual events visit [old calendar link]. Again, many thanks to PNO for allowing us to post our events on their site.
Well kids, that is all I have to say today.
Peace and Good Health,
Amber

Weekly News and Such
Hey kids,
This is one of those emails that any infoshop has to send out from time to time. We are short on the rent this month. We need another 75$ to pay the rent. We aren't that far from our goals, but we still need a bit more to push us over. If everyone who receives this email gives/sends/drops in the can/paypals TWENTYFIVE CENTS to the Radish we can pay the rent. (A monthly donation from each of us of only $3 would keep the Radish running smoothly.)
Another thing that we are organizing right now is the Radish table at MSU's Culturefest. We still need a few more people to run a short shift on Tues., Sept. 19th. We need volunteers from 11am until 4:30pm, with the table being open from 12 until 4pm. We would like to have 2 people at any point, so that we can trade off, run to the bathroom, etc. If anyone is able to work, even for an hour somewhere in the middle, just email your availability and we will pencil you in.
Besides the Culturefest table there are several things going on in the shop. We have a concert booked for September 9th, which is this Saturday. It will start at 1pm, so it will be a nice afternoon show at the Radish, with no cigarette smoke and no spilled beer. The bands are In Ink Please and Snow Cuts Glass, two guy-girl duos from up north.
We also have a film series going on at the Radish, if you are interested in the individual screenings visit [old calendar link].
(As a side note I just saw the most awesome book ever. It is called “Sticker Nation: The Big Book of Subversive Stickers, V. I.” We have one copy in the shop, & are hoping to order more. It has 400 stickers, with messages like “Electronic Anarchist”, “Alter the State”, “Reverse the Decay”, & “Eat More Veggies.” They are all bike-sized, & altogether a beautiful representation of alternative print. I encourage you all to come by, or go to your favorite online bookstore, & check it out.)
Well kids, I think I have written enough for today.
Until the system changes,
Amber

Ongoings at The Radish
Dear Radishals,
There has been a lot of renovation going on in the space as of late. The four new bookshelves have been set up in the space, and they have been organized in (hopefully) a more convenient way. As always, the community is welcome to come get a good read. This three day weekend would be a great time to devour some good literature. We are still needing bookends, so if anyone has some sitting around, we could put them to good use. (Just plain metal ones, we aren't asking for
anything fancy.)
Another loving volunteer managed to get the wireless Internet hooked up to the community computer. This will free up the phone lines to the Radish as well. In the past we've had a lot of issues with people not being able to get through because the phone lines have been tied up. You
should now be able to reach a Radish volunteer at [old phone #].
A lot of the energy around here has been spent towards the MSU culturefest, which is coming up on Sept. 19th. We are having a flier-making workshop on Tues., Sept. 5th, at about 7pm. If you have a flier idea, bring it in. We have had a bunch of copies donated to us, so we will be collecting fliers, & then going to mass-copy them. We're also collecting zines & other pamphlets that people would like us to distribute at the table. Someone has already donated a stack of the Crimethinc DIY booklets for the event. (Thanks Again!)
There are several other events planned for September. One such event is a concert on Sept. 9th, at 1pm. This is a great chance for those who aren't interested in the smoke-filled, alcohol-filled late-night club scene to come out & see some good music. The two bands are In Ink Please and Snow Cuts Glass. If you are interested in checking out their music you can do so through Myspace, where they both have accounts.
To check out other events that are happening during September you can check out the calendar at [old calendar link]. If you see an event you're interested in, come and check it out. That's why we're here! If you want an event to happen, but don't see it on the calendar, then just email us to schedule it during any open hours.
Well kids, I think that is all for today.
Best wishes from your local neighborhood infoshop,
Amber
